一、教学目标 Aims
1.使学生了解生理心理学的历史与发展趋势。
Makes the students to understand the history and the trends of physiological psychology. 
2.使学生准确理解和掌握生理心理学中的一些基本名词和术语。
Makes the students to understand accurately some of the basic terms and terminology of physiological psychology. 
3.使学生全面了解生理心理学的研究方法,思考生理心理学的研究策略。
Makes the students to know comprehensively the research approaches and strategies of physiological psychology.
4.使学生理解有关感觉、知觉、注意、睡眠与觉醒,摄食、学习与记忆、情绪、人格等行为与心理现象的生理机制。
Makes the students to understand the physiological basis of sensation, perception, attention, sleep and arousal, eating behaviors, learning and memory, emotion and personality.
5.培养学生认真的科学态度和严谨的逻辑思维能力,将基础知识和基本技能结合起来去分析、解决新问题。
Culture the students’ serious attitude and rigorous logical thinking ability, to unify the elementary knowledge and the basic skill to analyze, solve the problems.
6.开设实验课,让学生通过亲手操作去验证、巩固和运用所学的理论知识,培养学生的观察能力和实验的基本操作技能。
Experimental courses provide the students the opportunities to verify, consolidate and practice the theories, and to improve their observation ability and operational skills.

二、教学内容和学时分配 Contents and timing
(一)第一章 绪论  3学时(课堂讲授)
Chapter 1  Introduction   3 hours (Theory)
主要内容:①生理心理学的性质;②生理心理学的历史;③相关基础知识
Contents: ①The nature of physiological psychology; ②History of physiological psychology; ③Knowledge necessary to the course
教学要求:生理心理学的学科性质,脑研究的历史回顾,当代主流与发展趋势;神经系统,激素与行为,药物与行为。
Requirements: The nature of physiological psychology, the historical review of brain
studies, contemporary mainstream and trends; The nervous system, hormones and behaviors,
drugs and behaviors. 
重点、难点:学科性质、当代的主流及发展趋势。人脑的主要结构和功能。药物与行为的关系。

brain structure and functions. Drugs and behaviors.

主要内容:①常规解剖学检查方法;②干预脑功能的手段;③脑功能的电磁记录技术;④常用的脑成
像技术
Contents: ①Conventional anatomic methods; ② Experimental ablation;③ Electromagnetic
recoding technology; ④Brain imaging
教学要求:各种技术的基本原理: 常规组织学方法,组织化学技术;手术损伤法,刺激法,脑立体定
位技术;脑电图,脑磁图;计算机断层扫描技术,正电子放射扫描技术,核磁共振显影技术。
Requirements: Principles of the technologies: Conventional histological technology, 
histochemistrical technology; ablation, stimulation, stereotaxic surgery; 
Electroencephalography, magnetoencephalography; Computerized tomography, Positron

重点、难点:脑电及脑成像技术的基本原理,各自的优势和局限性。

主要内容:①视觉;②听觉

教学要求:视觉通路,视觉的形成,视觉失认症;听觉通路,听觉的形成,声源的空间定位,听觉失
认症。
Requirements: The visual pathway, the mechanism for pattern vision, visual agnosia; Auditory 
pathway, auditory information processing, perception of spatial location, auditory agnosia.
重点、难点:视觉、听觉信息的加工,失认症。

主要内容:①特异传导系统和非特异传导系统;②丘脑网状核闸门理论;③注意缺陷障碍

thalamic reticular nucleus; ③Attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
教学要求:特异传导系统和非特异传导系统;丘脑网状核闸门理论;注意缺损障碍概述及病因。

(五)第五章 基本动机行为的生理基础  6学时(课堂讲授)

主要内容:①睡眠与觉醒的生理基础;②饮水行为的生理基础;③摄食行为的生理基础
Contents: ①The physiological basis of sleep and arousal; ②The physiological basis of 
drinking; ③The physiological basis of eating behaviors
教学要求:为什么要睡眠?睡眠类型,睡眠障碍,睡眠与觉醒的生理基础;渴感的产生,饮水的生理
基础;摄食与新陈代谢,影响摄食行为的因素,与摄食有关的脑结构,摄食行为的生化调节,摄食障
碍。
Requirements: why we sleep? Stages of sleep, sleep disorders, the physiological basis of 
sleep and waking; Thirsty, mechanisms of water regulation; Eating and metabolism, factors 
influencing eating behaviors, the neural basis, biochemistry modulation, eating disorders.
重点、难点:睡眠与觉醒,摄食的生理基础。

(六)第六章 学习和记忆的神经生物学基础 5学时(课堂讲授)
Chapter 6  The neurobiology of learning and memory  5 hours (Theory)
主要内容:①学习和记忆的分类;②学习的脑机制;③记忆的神经生化基础;④学习记忆与突触可塑
性;⑤记忆与智能障碍
Contents: ①Classification of learning and memory; ②The neural basis of learning; ③The 
biochemistry basis of memory; ④Learning, memory and synaptic plasticity; ⑤Memory and 
intelligent disorders
教学要求:学习,记忆类型;学习的脑机制;短时记忆的生理机制,长时记忆的生理机制,长时记忆
的分子生物学基础;长时程增强效应的建立与突触的可塑性,学习和记忆能力与发育的关系,环境、
教育与脑;记忆障碍,智能障碍。
Requirements: Types of learning and memory; The neural basis of learning; The physiological 
basis of short-term memory and long-term memory; Induction of long-term potentiation and 
synaptic plasticity, relationship between learning and memory abilities and development, 
environment, education and the brain; Amnesia, mental retardation.

重点、难点:学习和记忆的脑机制、学习与突触可塑性的关系。学习和记忆的神经及分子生物学基础。

主要内容:①言语产生和理解的脑机制;②脑损伤与失语症
Contents: ①The neural basis of language production and comprehension; ② brain damage and aphasia
教学要求:言语中枢的发现与争论,大脑的语言功能一侧化与两半球言语功能的协同,言语产生的脑
机制,言语理解的脑机制,双语的脑机制;失语症。
Requirements: Discovery and debates of language centers, lateralization and the 
collaboration of the two hemispheres of language functions, the brain mechanisms of language 
production and comprehension,the bilingual brain; Aphasia.
重点、难点:失语症。

Requirements: Emotions, autonomic response and the James-Lange theory, brain areas 
associated with emotion, the functions of emotions; Stress, physiology of the stress 
response, stress and health; Biofeedback; Affective disorders, Anxiety disorders.
重点、难点:情绪的脑机制,应激。

四、先修课要求及教学策略与方法建议
Requirements and teaching strategies and methods
在学习本课程之前,学生应该掌握普通心理学,人体解剖与神经生理学知识,同时要具备一定的英语听说读写能力。
Prior to this course, students should master the knowledge on general psychology, human anatomy and neurophysiology, and certain listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in English.

五、考核方式Grading
1.理论课的测试与评估Exam and Evaluation in Theory Course
考核方式:平时考查与期末闭卷考试。
Grading: quizzes and the final exam.
目的:闭卷考试重点考察学生对生理心理学基本概念和基本理论的理解。
Objectives: The final exam focuses on the comprehension of the basic concepts and theories.
方式Methods:
(1)平时测验:占总成绩的40%。主要是检查教学效果,调节师生动机,改进教学。采用单元测验、课外作业(如对学科发展趋势或一篇文章进行合乎逻辑的学术评价)等方法,重点考察学生对基本事实和基本概念的识记,及对理论原理的理解水平。
Quizzes: accounting for 40% of the total score. In order to verify the teaching efficiency, to adjust motivation of the participants, we use quizzes and assignments to test the students’ comprehension of the basic concepts, facts and theories midway through the semester.
(2)期末综合性考试:占总成绩的60%。主要以书面的认知测验为主,重点考察学生对总体教学内容的理解及综合运用知识的能力。命题既要保证学科内容的覆盖面也要突出重点,同时具备一定的深度和难度。评定的目标包括对生理心理学中的术语、事实、方法等具体内容的识记;对心理现象生理机制的理解水平;对学科知识的分析和综合能力;对理论原理的应用能力等。 
The final exam: accounting for 60% of the total score. We use cognitive test to investigate the general comprehension of the contents. The exam will cover the contents of the whole course with some emphasized contents. The objectives are to test the students’ understanding of concepts, facts and methods, to test their analysis and synthesizing capacity, and their application abilities of theories, etc.
考题的编写力求保证命题的科学性和测验的可靠性。根据本学科内容特点,题式可包括选择题等固定应答型,及名词解释、简答题、论述题等自由应答型两大类。
The items in the exam should be accurate and reliable. The final exam will include fixed reply questions, such as multiple-choice, and open-ended questions such as definition, short answer and essay.
2.实验课的评估 Grading in experimental course
考核方式:考查
Grading: experimental reports
目的:重点考察学生对基本实验方法的掌握程度以及实际的操作水平,书写实验报告的能力。
Objectives: To test the students’ proficiency of basic operation skills and writing reports ability. 
方式:预习或实验设计(占总成绩的20%),实验操作(占总成绩的40%),和实验报告(占总成绩的40%)。
Method: preparation or experiment design (accounting for 20% of total score), experimental operation skills (accounting for 40% of the total score), and experimental reports (accounting for 40% of the total score).
